Sticking to the 30 day challenge

Let’s get real. A 30 day challenge may sound easy enough, but 30 days is a long time. To ensure that you stick to the 30 day challenge we recommend the following:

  • Complete this challenge with a friend of yours. Working towards a goal with a friend provides you with social support, and accountability. On the days that you are bored or tired, your friend will be able to motivate you to stick to the challenge. And you can do the same for your friend
  • Try and complete the challenge at the same time every day: Planning when you will complete the challenges of the activity in advance, greatly increases the chances of you completing the full 30 days. So if you are doing a 30 declutter challenge, determine if you will work on it first thing in the morning, or right after dinner. This will allow you to create a habit, that you will be able to stick to even after the challenge is over
  • Know what to do if you skip 1 day of the 30 day challenge: Most people who complete 30 day challenges end up skipping at least 1 day of the challenge. That’s because it is hard to create change. We recommend strictly sticking the challenge for a minimum of 1 week. If after that you do end up skipping 1 day, then simply make sure that you don’t skip 2 days in a row. This ensures that you don’t completely give up on the 30 day challenge.
