10-morning habits that will change your life forever

How you start your mornings can set the tone for the rest of the day. Here are 10 Morning Habits that will change your life forever.

Many of us have heard of the 5 am club, where all the successful individuals wake up at 5 am and have a routine that helps them start their day.

For the longest time, I have been trying to incorporate this into my life. I haven’t been successful, but I have found a morning routine that works for me.

Your morning determines the rest of your day,

Have you noticed that if your morning starts on a bad note, the rest of your day goes the same?

I recognized the difference in my productivity on the days I woke up earlier. I noticed that if my morning started on a good note, my whole day or else vice versa.

Therefore I decided it was key to form healthy morning habits and start it out on a positive note.

Here are 10 morning Habits that changed my life forever

1. Wake Up earlier

Person waking up earlier

My biggest tip for the morning is to wake up earlier every day. I personally found that I could get most of my work done without distractions best earlier in the day.

Research also suggests that waking up an hour earlier can reduce your depression risk by 23%.

You don’t have to aim to suddenly wake up at 5 am because that may demotivate you and make you feel more tired.

Start off small, for example, if you are used to waking up at 9 am, set an alarm for 5 minutes earlier each day. The key to this is to not snooze your alarm and make sure you get out of bed, as soon as it rings. You can slowly adjust your clock every day and your body will get used to earlier days.

2. Drink Water

Did you know? that 60% of your body is made of water. That is why it is essential to consume water and keep yourself hydrated.

Hydration is key to keeping your body and mind functioning at their best. Drinking water upon waking helps to flush out toxins, jumpstart your metabolism and wake up your brain.

Bonus: Water can also help suppress appetite and keep you from indulging in unhealthy breakfast choices.

Therefore the best thing to do is to start your morning by drinking water. I noticed big changes in my mood and productivity when I drank water early in the morning.

3. Exercise:

Exercise every morning

Exercise is a great way to start your day – it wakes you up, gets your blood flowing, and releases endorphins that make you feel good. And you don’t have to go to the gym or spend hours on the treadmill. A brisk walk, some light stretching or a few minutes of yoga will do the trick.

4. Take a quick cold shower

This is a great technique to wake you up in the morning. I used to struggle with early mornings but when I tried this I found myself feeling awake.

There are many health benefits to taking cold showers such as improved immune system, better circulation, reduced stress levels, and it can even help with weight loss.

The key is to start off slowly by gradually adjusting the temperature of your shower until you are taking cold showers.

If you can’t take a cold shower, then try spraying yourself with cold water or ice-cold water in a bowl.

5.Meditate

This is a great way to start your day if you want to focus on your inner peace and clear your mind. Meditation is a practice that can help you learn how to focus and calm your thoughts.

It only takes a few minutes of meditation in the morning to help center yourself for the rest of the day. You can find many guided meditations on YouTube or you can download an app such as Headspace.

A 30 Day Meditation challenge works wonders to get into the habit of meditating every day.

6.Practice Gratitude

This is one of the most important things you can do every morning. You will see the positive impact it will have on your day.

When you wake up each day, take a moment to think about all the things you’re grateful for. It could be your family, your health, your job, or anything else that brings joy to your life.

Gratitude is the act of being thankful for what you have. It’s a simple concept, but it can have a profound impact on your life.

Focusing on the positive things in your life will help you start the day with a positive attitude.

7.Journaling

Journaling is a great way to get all your thoughts out and it can help you process your emotions. It’s also a great way to set goals and track your progress.

You can use journaling to reflect on your day, brainstorm ideas, or just write down whatever is on your mind.

There are many different ways to journal, so find one that works best for you. You can use a physical journal or you can try online journaling.

The most important thing is to make time for journaling every morning and be consistent with it.

8.Keep away the devices

This is a hard one for me because I’m addicted to my phone. But, try your best not to check your devices first thing in the morning.

The reason being is that you want to give yourself some time to focus on yourself and your goals for the day. Checking email, social media, or playing games on your phone can easily consume your time and energy.

If you can, leave your devices in another room or turn them off completely. This way, you’re not tempted to use them first thing in the morning.

9.Step outside

Research suggests that sunlight helps boost a chemical in your brain called serotonin.

This helps regulate your mood and can help improve your overall energy.

So, try to spend a few minutes outside in the morning getting some fresh air. It will do you good. It can just be 5 minutes of fresh air sun, but it’s a great way to help you feel more energetic and fresh.

10.Start your morning on a positive note

As I said earlier, your morning determines the tone for the rest of your day. To begin my day on a positive note, I start it with positive affirmations.

Here is a list of positive affirmations you can start your morning with.

Another great idea is to listen to something motivational or read something positive. I have placed a positive mantra on my wall, so each time I wake up I read that.

I have noticed that if I am positive in the morning then my whole day is productive.
