What is Self Love?
Self Love is the unconditional love that you give to yourself. It means that you accept yourself for who you are and like your individuality. Self Love is the foundation of all other love. It provides us with inner stability and self-confidence to understand when we need to set boundaries and say ‘no’ in order to make time for ourselves when we need it.
Self Love isn’t selfish
Self Love doesn’t mean forgetting about others. It simply means that you take time out to care for yourself.
Self-Care isn’t Selfish – Self Care is quite the opposite of Selfishness. Selfish people are unable to form deep connections with others because they have no true connection with themselves. Self Care provides us with the opportunity to practice loving ourselves so that we can show love and compassion to others.

Train your mind to think more positively
To achieve Self-Love we need to train our minds to think more positively. We have a number of self-defeating thoughts every day, which reinforce our feelings of fear, doubt, and unworthiness. That is why it is important to work on replacing those negative thoughts with positive ones.
Identify your thoughts :
Start by becoming more aware of your thoughts. Pay attention to the things you say to yourself throughout the day, and ask yourself whether they are positive or negative.
Try to notice how your thoughts are impacting your emotions and behavior. For example, whenever I had a negative, thought I would just write it down. Then would try to notice how I am feeling and why I am feeling that particular way.
Replace your thoughts
Once I had worked on identifying my thoughts. I decided to work on replacing them. So for instance when having a negative thought it’s important to ask yourself whether this thought is actually realistic and true.
If you catch yourself thinking or saying something negative, challenge that thought and try to replace it with a positive one.
For example, if you catch yourself thinking “I’m not good enough,” challenge that thought and replace it with “I am good enough.” Or if you catch yourself thinking “I can’t do this,” challenge that thought and replace it with “I can do this.”
The more you practice challenging and replacing your negative thoughts, the easier it will become, and eventually, your self-talk will be mostly positive. This will help you to feel
Practice Affirmations:
Affirmations are a great way to start, these are positive statements that help you overcome negative thoughts.
You may be wondering how to start saying positive affirmations. At first, you might find this childish and unrealistic. With practice and positivity, you will see how you reshape your life with this activity.
Make a list of affirmations that would work for you. These are some examples, you can use when creating your own. I started off by making it a daily practice and standing in the mirror 3-5 times a day just repeating them again and again.
Once I had started to feel more confident each time I heard myself calling myself “Ugly” I would replace it with a positive affirmation.
These are some ways you can train your mind and change your negative thinking to become more positive and learn to love yourself more.
