To let go is to free and release something in you that you have been carrying that holds you back. It could be stored past memory or negative biases or beliefs. Letting go does not mean giving up but it is releasing stuff in us that is blocking us from moving forward.
Why it is essential to Let Go
Creates Space
When we live in clutter and our house is filled with unnecessary things, we start feeling uncomfortable and we want clarity. Therefore is essential to let go of things that are making us feel anxious and uncomfortable. Similarly, when we are filled with anxious and unnecessary thoughts, we need to let go of them to create space and room.
Creates a feeling of ease
Negative thoughts cause unnecessary anxiety and worry. It is in our nature to worry, but what if I tell you, you can let go of unnecessary worry and negative thoughts, wouldn’t you like to do it? Yes, there are ways you can let go of feelings that are leading to negative thoughts and worry to create ease which leads to a more carefree life.
To lead a better and happier life
Letting go is difficult for many people, especially when they have become attached to a place or person. It can be hard because it means giving up the comfort of something familiar and letting ourselves explore new possibilities in life without being afraid about what will happen if things don’t work out as planned, but this uncertainty stops us from living fully – there are so many opportunities waiting just around every corner!
What we don’t realize is that some things are toxic and so are the memories. Letting go can help free us from these memories and live a more fulfilled and happy life.
Tips to Let go
Change your negative thought to a positive one
Thoughts are beliefs and opinions we form about ourselves and the people around us.
Observe your thoughts and see what you are thinking, are your thoughts negative or positive? According to research, an average person has 12,000-60,000 thoughts a day and 80% of those tend to be negative.
As most of us tend to think negatively, this leads us to be helpless which increases our stress levels and then eventually impacts our health.
Observe your thoughts and when you notice a negative thought catch it and change it to be more positive. Instead of saying.” I am doing badly and am not good enough” say “I am doing the best I can’’.
We should not resist our thoughts and push them away, but instead, practice thought replacement.
If you keep practicing this every day, you will learn to control your thoughts and be more positive.
Sit with negative emotions and let them flow
We all have feelings that are uncomfortable. What do we do with it? Have you ever noticed? We are either resisting, suppressing, or expressing it. We don’t want to feel the pain, so we push it away when the feeling comes up. We are bottling it up until it feels like a pressure cooker wanting an outlet. Some of the feelings get stored inside our psyche and affect us for life.
When you get an uncomfortable feeling, relax, sit with it and let it flow. Instead of avoiding and pushing down the feeling, sit with it, be comfortable with it and let it pass through.
This is an ongoing process, here we are surrendering to the process of the feelings coming up and letting go. When we allow the energy of the feeling to pass through, this results in us feeling lighter and better. After a few days or later the feeling may come up again and we should follow the same process.
When we notice that these past energies are forcing themselves instead of resisting them, it is important to face them head-on to let go.
As we continuously practice relaxing and letting go it will become easier and second nature for us to do. And eventually, we will become comfortable with the process and will laugh at it. Remember, we have many layers of energies we could have stored up in the past that need releasing to let you free.
Repeat a prayer or mantra
Whenever anxious thoughts are troubling you, use a prayer line or any mantra to replace the thought.
Keep repeating it. Connect to the divine with a prayer, keep repeating the prayer or mantra and this repetition will help in replacing your negative thought.
Also, affirmations are helpful, use the positive affirmation, say it to yourself or write them down and let it sink in your subconscious mind. When you worry, the mind gets active and will start giving you more reasons to worry. Remember the mind is not you but it is a tool given to you to navigate. Use it in a positive way. Prayer or a mantra connects you to your higher self and changes the energy field around you.

Self-care and Self Love
One of the most important things you can do to let go is to take care of yourself. When you love and nurture yourself, it becomes easier to let go of things that are not good for you. Be gentle and kind to yourself. Tell yourself “All is Well”.
Self-love plays a very important part, and at times, we don’t know how to love ourselves. What do we do, when our children come crying to us feeling hurt? We hug them, comfort them, and let them know you love them. But when it comes to ourselves, we tend to be harsh and critical and we beat ourselves up for the smallest mistakes.
Tell yourself I love you and repeat it to yourself even if you feel you are faking it. When you are hurting, be gentle to yourself, send love to what’s hurting, and keep telling yourself it is fine and ok. . Don’t blame and berate yourself. We are beings who crave love and belonging, we can start by sending love to ourselves and then to the person who hurt us.
Loving energy is a healing energy that plays a very important part in our lives. Taking care of yourself and sending love helps a lot in the healing process.
